CAN YOU HELP OUT?

With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering can be enormous. Volunteering offers vital help to the organisation you are assisting but the benefits can be equally great for you, the volunteer. It can help you to make friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career.

Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.

Heriot’s Rugby Club is currently in an envious position in Scottish Rugby with five senior teams, all competing at the highest possible level, and a thriving junior section. This however means that there is a huge amount of work to be done behind the scenes and although we have a few paid employees we rely on volunteers for the success of our club.

We are currently looking to fill the role of match day stewards. This voluntary position involves being responsible for the safety of spectators.  Positioned at all entrance points to the ground, as well as other strategic points, ensure spectators are only using authorised entry points and to ensure there are no issues with crowd safety. Assisting turnstile entry and checking numbers. This would be when for Super Series or Blues 1st XV home games at Goldenacre for 90 minutes before kick off until Full Time.

As a thank you to anyone who signs up to be a match day steward or those currently in any of our other voluntary positions, we would like to offer you a complimentary full supporter membership for the remainder of 2023-24 season.

Please contact Laura Morton at enquiries@heriotsrugbyclub.co.uk to find out more.

Volunteering can be lots of fun! As well as giving you the opportunity to explore new interests and learn new skills, it can also give you something to look forward to and something meaningful to do with your spare time.
