Heriot’s Rugby Club is delighted that Matt Davidson and Liam Richman will join the Edinburgh Rugby team at The Hive to play in the first pre season match against Connacht on Friday Night.
The two have peaked the interest of many at Goldenacre since joining the club at the start of the 2023 season. Matt, with his GB 7’s experience and Liam, who is Scottish Qualified, with his experience out in Australia until this year. Both have been showing what they are capable of regularly in the FOSROC Super Series and are now reaping the benefits of their hard work.
Matt and Liam have been training with the Edinburgh squad for the last few weeks now, alongside their commitments with Heriot’s Rugby in the FOSROC Super Series Championship.
We caught up with Ben Cairns, who said “A key indicator for us is to have as many players as possible coming through our environment and getting Full-Time Pro opportunities, so its great to see three of our squad involved with Edinburgh Rugby on Friday night. They have been in good form for us and Edinburgh have obviously liked what they’ve seen since they have been in with them. The communication from Edinburgh Rugby around possible involvement has been excellent and we wish our players and the rest of the Edinburgh squad all the best for their first competitive outing.”
We wish the lads all the best of luck on Friday night and with Super Series having a bye week, it gives them a chance to get some professional game time under their belts.
