Dr Norman Irons CBE., DL – 01/04/41 – 26/11/23
Former Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Dr Norman Irons CBE., DL passed away peacefully on Sunday 26th November 2023, with his wife and daughter at his bedside, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s. A proud Herioter all his life he was an active member of the Heriot community as a long-standing Governor of the School, a member of the Heriot Club committee and a regular at Goldenacre.
There will be a private family funeral and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 11am on February 22nd at St Giles Cathedral.
He will be sadly missed and our thoughts are with Anne, Liz and the rest of his family at this time.
