Two of our very own Blues Women have been named in the Scotland 7’s squad to travel to the second leg of the Rugby Europe Sevens Championship Series in Moscow, Russia this Friday. Laidlaw has made some changes to the team, but Megan Gaffney returns to the fold after missing the first leg due to last minute injury. She will join Annabel Sergeant as they head out to Moscow ahead of the game.
This is exciting news for the club, coming in the same week, the Blues Women have moved up to the Tennent’s Premiership. This team is one to watch, they are a young team, having been established in 2018. The team have worked hard under the guidance of former Scotland players, Rhona Hume and Ruth Slaven-Ross.
We caught up with Ruthie about this announcement and she said “I am so pleased for Annabel and Megan, this is a great opportunity for them to continue their rugby career. I, myself, have really fond memories of heading out to Moscow back in 2013 to compete. I wish them all the best.”
