Heriot’s Blues Women player Megan Gaffney is making her case to become an Olympian after the announcement of her selection in the Team GB Sevens training squad late last week.
Megan is one of 12 Scottish rugby players, six women and six men, to be selected for the two training squads and will attend the first camp next month in Loughborough.
Heriot’s Rugby Club President Iain Duckworth congratulated Megan for her selection as she pursues her Olympic ambitions.
‘‘On behalf of the club I would like to acknowledge Megan’s fantastic achievement.”
‘‘I know that everyone at Heriot’s Rugby Club will be wishing her the best with her training and the upcoming selection process for the 2021 Summer Olympics Team.
‘‘Megan is a role model of the game. Her successes, and those of her Scottish teammates, inspire developing rugby players and importantly encourage more girls into the game.’’
