Heriot’s Rugby Club to welcome new Operations Director Tony Delaney in September

Heriot’s Rugby Club will welcome Tony Delaney as the new Operations Director from September 1.

Tony will bring considerable operational experience to the newly created full-time role at Goldenacre.

Following a successful career in the British Army’s Intelligence Corps, Tony was a member of the EU delegation in Afghanistan as a Senior Risk Analyst. 

Since leaving the British Army he has held various Project Management roles including within the utilities sector and most recently at Lloyds Banking Group.

Tony is a former player and a father to two boys, also players. His eldest son is currently training with Hawick RFC. Tony has been a member of the Hawick Youth Rugby Club committee.

On Tony’s appointment to the Operations Director role Heriot’s Rugby Club President, Colin McCallum said:

‘‘We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tony the club’s Operations Director,’’ he said.

‘‘This is an entirely new full-time post within the club that reflects the Board’s intent to further professionalise our approach to revenue generation and infrastructure organisation.

‘‘I am sure everyone at the club will join me in wishing Tony every success in his new role.’’
